What is a PST File?

PST stands for Personal Storage Table. A PST file is used by Microsoft Outlook to store email messages, calendar items and other Outlook Data. In contrast is the Microsoft Exchange Server information which is stored on a server and accessed by Outlook. Instead a PST file is typically stored on a user's local hard drive or on a file server.
